Gold Coin Deals
Gold – one of the most precious metals in the world and the cause of events and disputes and it is how the wealth of a country is defined. I remember that my mother had a beautiful pair of gold earrings that I almost lost when I was about 5 years old. They were beautiful and sparkly and I loved to play with them. I knew my mother would get cross if I played with them when she was around so I always waited for her to be at the other end of the house before I ventured near her jewelry box to look at those beautiful earrings that I loved so much.
One day I thought that my mother was away when I was holding the earrings to my ears in front of her bedroom mirror when I heard her footsteps coming towards the bedroom door. I ducked into the attached bathroom and looked for somewhere to hide. I climbed into the bath and hid behind the curtain and prayed she wouldn’t find me with my hands over my eyes.
She came into the bathroom and I heard her washing her hands at the sink. I was so nervous that I dropped the gold earrings and they fell down the drain before I could stop them I was horrified. My mother heard and peered around the shower curtain. She asked me what I was doing there and I burst into tears and confessed to her what had happened to her treasured earrings.
We were lucky that they hadn’t fallen far and that a nice plumber friend of my father came over in an hour and retrieved the earrings from the pipes and there was no real harm done. I was still visibly upset by the whole incident and my mother sat me on my knee with the earrings in her hand and showed them to me.
She asked me if I knew that her mother had given her the earrings as a present on her 18th birthday and that the earrings had been in the family as an heirloom for a long time. I shook my head tears still rolling down my cheeks I felt so bad. She went on to tell me that the earrings would be mine when I was 18 and if I ever wanted to look at them I just had to ask her and we would look at them.
When my son came to me asking me to tell him about gold I really didn’t know much other than about the earrings. I was interested to know more so with my son we researched all of the different ways you can buy gold this is what we learned.
1. Bullion bar – the gold of kings and in the bank vaults. Well not anymore. From 1 grain (.65 of a gram) which are usually 24 carat to much bigger which most of us can’t afford there is a size of bullion bar for buyers of all types and budgets;
2. Intel Xeon socket 604 fiber CPUs for gold scrap – this is not one that I would have thought of, as I didn’t realize that there was gold in the computer chips. We put this to one of the more unusual ways of buying gold but you know people are doing it and advertising online;
3. Gold leaf flake vials – these are a gift item and there are lots of folks selling leaf flakes online. You can also use these for decoration of different craft products and some even use it for the decoration of food;
4. Gold nuggets – remember the old cry, “there is gold in them there hills,” I think it was the gold nuggets that they were referring to. This is an unrefined form of gold and nuggets will vary greatly in worth depending on their purity;
5. Proline sluice concentrates – this is gravel from a mining spot, which reputedly has elements of gold through them. This is unrefined to the point that the purchaser needs to extract the gold from the gravel themselves for it to be of value to them;
6. Gold Coins – the number of different coins that we found for sale were amazing though considering that many countries maybe not so unusual used gold for coins for years. There were gold coins from different centuries and countries and I recalled from history class the importance of gold bullion to pirates because that’s what countries traded in at that time;
7. Gold jewelry – we all or at least most of us are familiar with gold jewelry and if we don’t own any we at least know someone that does. From traditional rings, pendants and necklaces to more modern incarnations gold has always been important in the manufacture of jewelry all around the world;
8. Nick Knacks – collectables form an era gone by are often made out of gold. It was a time when gold was more readily available and a way of displaying wealth. Objects like pocket watches, cigar and snuff boxes can still be purchased online and at specialty stores for the collector of all things gold.
Gold figures in history prominently and after our research was able to write his paper for school and I also had a much better idea of gold and of where you find it and how it is traded by investors in this current day and age – especially online.
