Bad Boys II (Two-Disc Special Edition)
List Price: |
DescriptionNo one goes to a movie directed by Michael Bay for delicacy and grace; you go because Michael Bay (Armageddon, The Rock) knows how to make your bones rattle during a high-speed chase when a car flips over, spins through the air, and smacks another car with a visceral crunch. Bad Boys II fulfills this expectation and then some. Will Smith and Martin Lawrence may be mere puppets amid all this burning rubber and shrieking metal, but they actually provide a human core to the endless cascade of car wrecks and gunfights. Their easy rapport makes their personal problems--a running joke is Lawrence's attempts at anger management--as engaging as the sheer visual hullabaloo of bullets and explosions. The plot is recycled nonsense about drug lords and dead bodies being used to smuggle drugs, but orchestration of violence is symphonic. If that's your thing, then this is for you. --Bret Fetzer Hang on for maximum mayhem full-on fun and the wildest chase scenes ever put on film! The action and comedy never stop when superstars Martin Lawrence and Will Smith reunite as out-of-control trash-talking buddy cops. Bullets fly cars crash and laughs explode as they pursue a whacked-out drug lord from the streets of Miami to the barrios of Cuba. But the real fireworks result when Lawrence discovers that playboy Smith is secretly romancing his sexy sister Gabrielle Union (Bring it On). Director Michael Bay (Pearl Harbor Armageddon) and producer Jerry Bruckheimer (Pirates of the Caribbean Black Hawk Down) deliver a high-speed high-octane blockbuster that will blow you away! "...Year's most action-packed and high-flying flick." (Shawn Edwards FOX TV).System Requirements:Running Time: 146 Min.Format: DVD MOVIE Genre: ACTION/ADVENTURE Rating: R UPC: 043396006195 Manufacturer No: 00619 |

The Concert For New York City
List Price: |
DescriptionOn October 20, 2001, this now-historic concert took place at Madison Square Garden, a mere six weeks after the horrific terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. Thousands of firefighters, police officers, survivors, families, and fans witnessed a once-in-a-lifetime event as, in the space of nearly six hours, many legendary musical performers donated their time and their talent to one of the greatest causes ever, in the process giving their audience an unforgettable burst of pure emotion. Organized by Sir Paul McCartney, the Concert for New York City was an overwhelming experience that deserves to be saved for posterity. The two-CD audio recording is crammed with dozens of superb performances but doesn't give a sense of the whole show that this two-DVD set certainly does. Not only can we relive such seminal performers from that evening as the Who, David Bowie, John Mellencamp, and Sir Paul himself, we can see the charming and personal short films made for the occasion by such New York filmmakers as Woody Allen and Martin Scorsese, or the dozens of celebrities and unsung firefighters and police officers who immortalized that day with their stories and musical introductions. There is one quibble: the Goo Goo Dolls' "Iris," one of the blues standards Eric Clapton and Buddy Guy played, and McCartney's "From a Lover to a Friend" and "Lonely Road" are all missing, which seems curious, considering that the entire show could have easily fit onto two DVDs. So don't erase that videotape you made of the concert the night it aired, because that remains the definitive version. But this DVD (with very good Dolby 5.1 surround sound) comes close. --Kevin Filipski After tragedy struck New York City and America on September 11, 2001, the entertainment world banded together for a benefit concert for the NYPD, FDNY and rescue workers who toiled so valiantly during the crisis. This special two-disc program features music by David Bowie, Bon Jovi, Destiny's Child, The Who, Mick Jagger, Elton John, Paul McCartney, and many others; short films by Woody Allen, Spike Lee and Kevin Smith; special appearances by Jim Carrey, Billy Crystal, Meg Ryan, NYC mayor Rudy Giuliani, and many more. 5 hrs. total. Standard; Soundtracks: English Dolby Digital 5.1, PCM stereo; bonus footage; more. |

Elmo's World - Springtime Fun
List Price: |
DescriptionThe endearing, red-mopped Muppet is back for a romp through spring, offering preschoolers a potpourri of animated and live-action snippets showcasing seasonal favorites: birds, bugs, and bicycles. Elmo, the host of this vintage Sesame Street program, chats gaily while ushering in familiar guests Prairie Dawn, Ernie and Bert, and Grover during three 15-minute "chapters." Tongue-in-cheek spoofs ("The Loon Ranger," "The Dick Van Bike Show") are blended with general zaniness (think Mr. Noodle) to keep youngsters laughing as they learn. Catering to a child's short attention span, the fast-paced medley includes interactive games, sing-alongs, and engaging film of kids and critters. Especially heartwarming is footage of ducklings hatching and helmet-clad children pedaling without training wheels. In an effort to stay timely, Elmo's World charms its computer-savvy audience with references to the World Wide Web and "You've Got Mail," but there's no need: everyone knows Elmo is timeless. --Lynn Gibson Spring is here, and Elmo is celebrating with three B's: birds, bugs, and bicycles! With a dancing shade, a mischievous drawer, a frisky television, and a playful computer, Elmo's World is the perfect place for preschoolers to learn all about the world around them. And Elmo has lots of friends, both new and old, to answer questions like "where do birds live?", "how do bugs get from place to place?", and "how many wheels does a tricycle have?" In Elmo's World, birds, bugs, and bicycles talk, and learning is always fun!Product Measures: 0.5 x 5.4 x 7.5 INRecommended Ages: 12 months & up |

P3 International P4400 Kill A Watt Electricity Usage Monitor
List Price: |
DescriptionEmpowers You to Save Hundreds on Electric Bills Electricity bills are rising. Now you can cut down on costs and find out what appliances are actually worth keeping plugged in. Simply connect these appliances to the Kill A Watt, and it will assess how efficient they really are. The large LCD display counts consumption by the kilowatt-hour, the same as your local utility. You can calculate your electrical expenses by the day, week, month, even an entire year. Also check the quality of your power by monitoring voltage, line frequency, and power factor. Now you will know if it is time for a new refrigerator or if that old air conditioner is still saving you money. Kill A Watt can help you reduce your power bill and will help find power-wasting appliances so you are able to decide whether it is worth keeping them plugged in. For standard 115 VAC appliances only, 15 amps maximum, 125 VAC maximum. Find Out How Much Electricity You're Using Large LCD display counts consumption by the kilowatt-hour The U.S Department of Energy reports that 20% of our electric bills come from items that are left plugged in when they are not in use, or items that are in standby mode. With the Kill A Watt P4400 we can monitor the energy eaters in our homes and cut down our electric bills at the same time. Plug whatever item you want into the device and it will tell you the efficiency of that item by displaying the kilowatt per hour. This device will help you determine which items are costing you the most to run. The Kill A Watt also calculates voltage, line frequency, current, and power factor. You can calculate your electric bill before you even receive it from the electric company. Test The Quality of Your Home's Power But measuring appliance consumption is just the tip of the iceberg. Because it can monitor voltage (Volt) and line frequency it can also test if an outlet is working, or evaluate the quality of the electrical power provided by your utility company. It can detect voltage drops around the house, help to predict brownout conditions or to make sure a new home's outlets are in working condition before escrow closes. The LCD shows all meter readings: volts, current, watts, frequency, power factor, and VA About P3 International Founded in 1987, P3 International is a privately owned manufacturer of solution oriented consumer products. Godspell
List Price: |
DescriptionOne of the most requested titles at Movies Unlimited, this musical, based on the hit play, presents the Gospel According to St. Matthew as played out in modern Manhattan. Colorful costumes and exciting choreography highlight this favorite that features the songs "Day by Day," "Prepare Ye the Way of the Lord," "Light of the World," and others. With Victor Garber, David Haskell. 103 min. Standard and Widescreen (Enhanced); Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital mono; Subtitles: English, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Korean, Thai; theatrical trailers; biographies. Comparing Godspell to its near-contemporaries Jesus Christ Superstar and Hair is unavoidable, but Godspell has developed its own unique following. With their thrift-store-meets-circus-performer garb, the characters in David Greene's adaptation of the popular off-Broadway production may look more like the hippies in Hair than the biblical personages of Superstar. But Godspell isn't really about the "Age of Aquarius," nor does it adopt a dark or operatic tone towards its subject matter, the Gospel according to Matthew. The mood is, instead, upbeat and uplifting (at least until the crucifixion sequence). The film opens with youthful city dwellers from various walks of life dropping their activities to follow John the Baptist (David Haskell from the original New York production). They sing ("Prepare Ye the Way of the Lord") as he leads them into a fountain where they are (metaphorically) baptized. There they meet Jesus (Victor Garber). Frizzy hair and mime makeup aside, the handsome young Garber (Titanic, Annie) is convincing in his film debut. Once baptized, they follow him around various scenic New York locations, singing and acting out passages from the Scriptures. The largely unknown cast is talented and charismatic, but the film is only fitfully engaging on an emotional level because only Jesus, John, and Judas (Haskell again) emerge as distinct characters. Stephen Schwartz's pleasing pop-rock score, however, helps to smooth over the rough spots, and Robin Lamont's hit version of "Day by Day" remains a highlight. --Kathleen C. Fennessy |

Man on Wire
List Price: |
DescriptionNative New Yorkers know to expect the unexpected, but who among them could've predicted that a man would stroll between the towers of the World Trade Center? French high-wire walker Philippe Petit did just that on August 7th, 1974. Petit's success may come as a foregone conclusion, but British filmmaker James Marsh's pulse-pounding documentary still plays more like a thriller than a non-fiction entry--in fact, it puts most thrillers to shame. Marsh (Wisconsin Death Trip, The King) starts by looking at Petit's previous stunts. First, he took on Paris's Notre Dame Cathedral, then Sydney's Harbour Bridge before honing in on the not-yet-completed WTC. The planning took years, and the prescient Petit filmed his meetings with accomplices in France and America. Marsh smoothly integrates this material with stylized re-enactments and new interviews in which participants emerge from the shadows as if to reveal deep, dark secrets which, in a way, they do, since Petit's plan was illegal, "but not wicked or mean." The director documents every step they took to circumvent security, protocol, and physics as if re-creating a classic Jules Dassin or Jean-Pierre Melville caper. Though still photographs capture the feat rather than video, the resulting images will surely blow as many minds now as they did in the 1970s when splashed all over the media. Not only did Petit walk, he danced and even lay down on the cable strung between the skyscrapers. Based on his 2002 memoir, Man on Wire defines the adjective "awe-inspiring." --Kathleen C. Fennessy Daringly conceived, elaborately planned, and flawlessly executed, the "artistic crime of the century" was committed when French high wire walker Philippe Petit rigged a 200-foot-long cable between the twin towers of New York's World Trade Center and set out on a hair-raising and illegal journey, more than 1,300 feet above the ground, between the skyscrapers on August 7, 1974. This poetic documentary recounts his amazing story. 94 min. Widescreen (Enhanced); Soundtracks: English Dolby Digital 5.1, Dolby Digital stereo, French Dolby Digital 5.1, Dolby Digital stereo; Subtitles: English, Spanish; bonus short "The Man Who Walked Between the Towers" (2005); bonus footage; interview.
